LOCAL NEWS: ONLINE COURSE REGISTRATION HAS STARTED FOR FUTO STUDENTS



2016/17 Online Course Registration is Ongoing-FUTO Mgt.
This is for the benefit of all... Recall that before the Federal University of Technology,Owerri(FUTO) embarked on an indefinite Mid-break; its students where told to register their courses online after they must have paid in cash for the registration.....
Read: Shun the media if stated otherwise, click to see the actual date for FUTO Resumption.
Students are hereby advised by the management to use this limited period to register their courses online as they may have no time on resumption.
Note: You can't take your exams if you have no course registered online..as you have no subject registered to sit for.
The online registration of courses is for students of all Levels in the institution.
Warning!!!: Before course registration online, visit your Class Adviser to confirm the list of courses you are supposed to register. Then follow the steps below:

Step1: Log-into the portal with your username and password;
Step2: Click on the “Course Registration” menu;
Step3: Select your level and semester(s) as necessary;
Step4: Select the approved courses to be registered for and click on the “Register Selected Courses” button. If you want to unregister a course, select it, and click on the “Unregister Selected Courses” button;
Step5: Go to the STUDENT DASHBOARD, Click on the PRINT course Registration Slip; and
After the steps above, make sure to send a copy of the Course Registration Slip to your Class Adviser to endorse.

LOCAL NEWS: 16 FUTO students arrested and charged to court

The Imo State Police Command on Friday arrested and charged 16 undergraduates of the Federal University of Tecnhnology, Owerri and Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Imo State, respectively for an alleged involvement in cult-related activities in the state. In a statement by Andrew Enwerem, the Police Public Relations Officer, he stated that the suspected cultists were arrested in a bush in Ihiagw community, Owerri West Local Government Area of the state, Enwerem, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, alleged that the suspects were members of a cult group known as Neo black movement of Africa confraternity. In a renewed onslaught against the menace of cultism in Imo State, operatives of the state police command on April 14,2017, arrested over 16 suspected cultists in a bush in Ihiagwa in the Owerri West LGA. 50 FEARED DEAD AS BOAT CAPSIZES ON RIVER NIGER

At least, 50 people were feared dead as boat conveying passengers from Gaya town in the neighbouring Niger Republic enroute to Lolo local market in Bagudo local government area of Kebbi state capsized in the over fl owing River Niger. Confi rming the incident to Blueprint in a telephone conversation, the council Chairman of Bagudo local government area, Alhaji Mohammadu Kaura Dan Hakimi, said the incident occurred at the early hours of yesterday. He said the boat was carrying over 100 passengers from Gaya a border town in Niger Republic and was reported to had broken into two parts as a result of over loading and couple with speedy wave of river Niger.
