Former President Goodluck Jonathan has dismissed claims by respondents in a book written by the Chairman of the Editorial Board of ThisDay, Mr. Segun Adeniyi. Jonathan, who stated this in his twitter handle on Saturday, faulted claims by respondents in the book, “Against the Run of Play.” He said many of those that responded to issues surrounding the 2015 presidential election made distorted claims. He said, “I have just read Segun Adeniyi’s new book, ‘Against the Run of Play’ which has so far enjoyed tremendous reviews in the media. My take on it is that the book as presented, contains many distorted claims on the 2015 presidential election by many of the respondents “There will obviously be more books like that on this subject by concerned Nigerians. Khloe Kardashian might be getting dumped by her basketball player boyfriend, Tristan Thompson.      Thompson has asked the Kardashian to "take a break" in their relationship so that he can focus on the upcoming basketball playoffs, a source close to the athlete disclosed.     Adam Levine paid tribute to the late Christina Grimmie during the Voice on Tuesday night while also announcing the 'Christina Grimmie Foundation'.     Christina Grimmie was the Voice season six alum and was tragically shot and killed last June at her own concert. Adam Levine gave a moving performance of the Beatles' "Hey Jude".     Christina's parents along with her brother, Mark, were in the audience as Adam remembered the beautiful soul that was Christina, saying " God, I loved her so much. The Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has called on his Ndigbo kinsmen to stop wasting resources in developing other land. He asked them to return to the east and set up their businesses instead of helping other states like Lagos, Kano to grow. Okorocha stated this while commissioning a hotel in Arondiziogu in Ideato council area of the state on Tuesday. He said, “I commend the proprietor of this hotel for coming home to invest. He could have built this hotel in Abuja or other places knowing too well that he could have made more profit, but he chose to think home. Let’s all come home, develop our area and create jobs for our people.” The governor further directed the state ministry of Works to assess the cost of drainage and asphalting the road leading to the area. The court had on April 6th unfrozen the money which was earlier seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, who suspected that the funds found in a Skye bank account were proceeds from financial crimes. The EFCC had applied for a stay of execution on the court order unfreezing her account. However at the court hearing today, counsel to EFCC, Rotimi Oyedepo, informed the court that the agency was withdrawing its application for stay of execution on the order and is also not going to appeal the order. Counsel to Patience Jonathan, Ifedayo Adedipe, confirmed to the court that he had been served with the EFCC’s application to withdraw its application for stay of proceedings.
